The dolls are from the 70's and I can't cut the hair. I bought them second hand and the hair is nothing short of a rat's nest. They are in great shape otherwise.

Depending on the damage to the hair and your patience, you may want to try cleaning, conditioning, and styling the hair before you go to rerooting or rewigging.

Some collectors note that synthetic hair is fabric, and recommended cleaning it with Woolite and conditioning it with fabric softener. Others, use shampoo and/or conditioner. I've always done the latter, and found it satisfying, but I can't say which is best.

What I do know is that using a detangler such as No More Tangles or a generic version after washing makes it much easier to comb and style the hair. If you are able to get the hair from rat's next to something more manageable, you can set the hair using cut up pipe cleaners and/or plastic drinking straws or very small people size rollers, depending on the size of the doll and the kind of curl or wave you want. If you can find a picture of the doll as it looked originally, you can use that as a guide for styling the hair.

DOLLS ARE CREEPY! ESPECIALLY IF THEY ARE OLDER THAN ME! Well my idea is to replace to hair(there are people who do it).

You have 2 options:

Use a cream called "Synafix Cream for Dolls" or you can cut it off, and so hair back on. Here is a website.
