I wish I would of seen this question before it ended. Don't use kerosene to get pine sap out. My husband prunes trees before Christmas time. He gets sap in his hair and on on his arms. I used Avon Skin So Soft and it takes it right out. Its a safe method and I swear by it. Report It

I dont know about horse hair but you would think that its could be fixed the same as you would a humans. I went camping last summer and had large amounts of sap drip into my hair. It was so bad that I thought I was going to have to shave my head. However, since gum is made with sap, and people use peanut butter to remove gum from air, I had my kids rub peanut butter on my head, and slowly but surely the sap came off.

mayonnaise rubbed into the sap would work. Rub it in, let it sit for a few minutes, then comb it out.

Acording to another site it said peanut butter... the olis help in it..

I would use ShowSheen detangler and baby oil. Put them in and comb at it for a while. No matter what you use, its going be a hard job to get it out. Good Luck!
