I have tight ringlets/afro hair that used to be really long and thick but is now thin.it just looks thick because it's frizzy.it's dry and damaged from years of straightening and hair colourants. do you think if will get back to being long and beautiful like before? if so what can i do with it in the mean time if i can't striaghten it? it's shoulder length and frizzy and clumps together so i don't know what to do with it.

Just keep combing it out. Grow it and keep having the frizz trimmed.

I reckon you should get proper treatment at the hairdressers if it's not too expensive. Then continue as they advise you. You probably look great anyway, but a little tlc will help!

Condition condition condition.

Use a deep penatrating conditioner such as biolage, paul mitchell, or back to basics.

If you blow dry your hair use a difuser, it really helps keep the frizz out, when blow drying use a small round brush and add a little curl to it. When your finished try a hair wax to piece out the curves. Crew makes an awesome hair wax for guys, that I use on my hair often. It doesn't make it look greesy but don't use too much of it. Make sure you have your ends trimmed often so you can get ride of the dead damaged hair and it can grow faster!

dont use any strong soulation when washing your hair even if it is go to do with your afro hair , go to specialties ask them or your GP.

unless you do not put your photo know ones what you look like i am sure you have a very sexy hair style and the looks, shows what you are made off.

don't try loads of different shampoos and conditioners, because the more you use, you will get a build up and dry shampoo on your scalp.

go to your hairdresser, get them to wash, dry and straighten.

ask to buy the products they use because it will be really good for your hair. make sure you watch carefully of what they do to your hair, if you don't know why there doing that ask them!

if it is curly ask them to curl it it will look really nice!

your hair should get back to normal condition, try google 'caring for afro hair' there might be some tips .
