Ideas to remove chewing gum from scalp hair.?

I've heard of peanut butter, or shortening, or cooking oil to soften the gum and get it out easier. Mayonnaise, mineral oil, baby oil, try any and all of these.

Vinegar might break it down and make it easier to remove.

I've even seen chocolate or egg whites recommended.

Try applying ice to the gum, it may become brittle enough to snap it off. Once you get most of it off, then try the oily stuff to dissolve the rest.

I would maybe try GooGone or WD40 or something similar, once you've gotten most of the gum off, to remove the residue. It's not really for using on the body, and I certainly wouldn't use it on a young child, but an older one or an adult, it's probably fine, if you shampoo it out right away. Good luck!

this is kinda nasty...but take peanut butter and rub it all over the gum and around it.trust me this works ive seen it.

it will take a while, but you can soften it with cooking oil, and then scrape or comb it out, bit by bit. Once you've got out most of it wash your hair with shampoo to get rid of the oil.

I had chewing gum in my hair all the time when i was younger. My mom got it out with peanut butter. It really works.

i know its a little wierd but try to apply liquid gas... it will surely help... believe me... my cousin have tried it so many times... and liquid gas is the only remedy...

Try using some vegetable oil if you are allergic to peanut butter. But, it makes youe hair greasy if you don't take a shower.
