If you have long hair, I'd suggest a barrette holding some of it back. No scrunchies, as they are not professional. Sometimes they have clips, etc., that claim to cater to curly hair, but aside from the regular hair clip, nothing works for me.
Short hair? I don't know - I refuse to cut mine short, since I can't manage it then.
