i have brown kinda curly hair that is semi long and i dont know if i should keep it down or straighten it or put it half way up. anything helps. thanks.

For something that is formal you always should wear your hair up or in some kind of hairstyle that's up.

keep it curly...i am sure it will look beautiful. i would put half of it up and put some jewels in it

I usually go with the half up half down myself because it best suite me... but ... some people look better with different things. so any of the suggestions you find here I would try them all on just in case (with your dress, if you already have one).

But first off maybe try something different... i mean... if you always have it down and curly... straighten it OR put it up... or both... it's a special day.. You want to really wow everyone. Not have them know who you are at first glance... have them take a second look at you ^_^ its fun having people shocked.

Actually it also depends on the dress and jewelry you are wearing for prom. You may have a pretty dress with a pretty back to it so you would want to show it off right? Or if not then find a style with your hair down. You see? .. And if you have dangling earrings you may want to have your hair up.. because 1.. You can't see it with the hair in the way and 2 .. Well it is great when you don't have to untangle it in the end of the day.

Also what is the prom theme? That may also determine what way to have your hair.

EX 2: what if you have a masquerade? (haha I had one at my prom, it was fun ^_^) do like an old fashion hair style (your curls would go great with that. half up look) but come to think of it.. it was really hot half way though the prom and i ended up putting my hair up .. so try to find something up.

have it up. youll regret it if you dont. it gets really hot and you dont want to have to deal with youre hair at prom. a good idea is to go to a hair stylist person and just have them put it up for you and itll be ready to go! =) have fun

Check all of the local prom and fashion magizines to check out cool prom type hairstyles. Also, I can relate to you, I also have brown wavy hair, and can't do too much to it. For my semi-formal dance at school, I wore my hair half up with some pretty sparkly clips I got at the store and everybody liked it.
